Sabrina Bloedorn is an ecologically conscious hiker and cyclist who explores Vancouver Island using Modo. She sold her car due to the financial burden, and Modo provides a sustainable and versatile solution. With a diverse fleet, Sabrina can choose from convertibles for beach days, SUVs for mountain hikes, and electric vehicles for city errands.

Denise enjoys outdoor activities, especially trail running, but also track sprinting and road racing. She pretty much enjoys all outdoor activities, including kayaking and hiking. However, she also likes to play games, especially crib with friends and family. When on her own, she likes to read and write, plus cooking and baking in the kitchen.  She has a passion for gardening, particularly trying to keep her garden filled with native plants and as natural looking as possible.

She loves to travel and loves to take the Modo car on a good road trip, primarily on Vancouver Island, where she lives as there are so many wonderful places to explore. She hopes to someday soon head overseas and visit Japan and Scotland or even return to Europe and explore, meet people, and enjoy the food and gardens there.

Bradley has been an active Modo member since moving to Vancouver (from Ontario via Japan) in 2004. As a runner, he uses carshare to get to races outside of the city – or to the mountains for a bit of snowshoeing! Shopping trips and travel to weekly choir rehearsal are also enabled by Modo! Living car-free in North Vancouver!

Lisa Corriveau, aka Spokesmama, lives in East Van with her husband and two kids. Her “family car” is a longtail cargo bike, but occasionally she carshares, having been a proud Modo member since 2003.

She is the Secretary of the Mount Pleasant Family Centre Board of Directors, sits on the city of Vancouver’s Active Transportation Policy Council and organizes family biking events.

Jean Huang is an artist based out of Vancouver, BC. She feels most at home when she’s out exploring B.C.’s backyard with her sketchbook and camera—hiking among towering trees, surrounded by the striking mountains, and gazing out over the endless ocean from a cliffside. Nature has always been one of her greatest teachers and inspiration for her artistic practice, as it is where she collects new colours, textures, and lessons. After every outdoor adventure, she is eager to get back to the studio to translate these memories and experiences into paint.

Elicia Elliott is a multimodal transportation planner, happy Vancouverite, and a proud Modo Ambassador. She values her Modo membership because of the choice and flexibility it affords – with a mixed fleet across the region, co-operative membership, and Living Wage Employer status, what’s not to love?

Iona & Paolo are the husband and wife team behind Kapé Philippine Coffee, a social enterprise promoting ethically sourced coffee from Philippine Indigenous women coffee farmers. More than contributing to livelihoods in their homeland, Kapé hopes to spark conversations on immigration, heritage, and identity. Iona & Paolo both believe in the power of meaningful, purpose-led work; this is why they keep full-time jobs (Iona is a Program Lead at a BC non-profit and Paolo is a Professor at Capilano University) and a full-time social venture. Recovering caffeine-dependent humans who used to drink 6 cups of coffee a day, they are also discovering the magic of vintage tea, tisanes, and decaf espresso – enjoying these with multicultural snacks and treats.

Jasmyn is a marketing professional located in Vancouver, BC. She was born and raised in Edmonton, AB and moved to Toronto at the age of 19 for school—studying public relations. Vancouver was never part of the plan because she loved the big city life but as soon as she found herself here, she knew this was going to be home forever. Waking up and seeing both the mountains and the water will never get old to her and though she lives a busy life, she will always find a way to enjoy the beauty that is her backyard.

Ingrid’s artistic process is embedded in slow fashion, modular design and sustainable operations. Her studio is a creative lab devoted to the responsible jewelry movement, in which she explores, develops and collates resources for local jewellery artists.

Ingrid is also a public relations professional, working in the field of economic development. Over the years, she has delivered award-winning campaigns recognized by the Canadian Public Relations Society and STORYHIVE. Ingrid is committed to the success of social purpose businesses, artists, journalism, and industrial-zoned businesses in Vancouver. As an LGBTQ Chinese-Canadian settler, she is equally invested in intersectional activism.

Ingrid has been president of the Vancouver Metal Arts Association since 2019 and has served on numerous other arts and culture boards over the years, including Tomoe Arts and the City of Vancouver’s External Advisory Committee for Culture|Shift.

TJ is the owner of Ono Vancouver, a kitchen consulting company that helps small to medium sized businesses and non-profits set up their food programs and navigate the food and beverage industries. During the start of the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020, together with a handful of chefs who were laid-off due to restrictions and restaurant closures, TJ started cooking meals to help vulnerable people in the DTES and other parts of Vancouver using surplus food donations that would otherwise end up in landfill. To date they have contributed over 250,000 meals to fight food insecurity in Vancouver and has diverted up to 7 tonnes of surplus food to help curb food waste.

Megan Kennedy is a thirty something year old, making her home in Vancouver, BC. A city girl who loves pushing her boundaries and passionate about exploring her city, province and the world around her. She fell in love with Vancouver after moving here more than 15 years ago, from Ontario. When she isn’t working her day job, you can find her either on the ice playing hockey, cheering loudly for her favourite NHL teams, spending time with friends or off exploring.
