The Victoria Car Share Co-op is pleased to offer our services to all BC Provincial employees*. Car sharing is an convenient and economical alternative to taxi's, long term rentals, and personal automobile use. By car sharing, you are reducing your ecological footprint and greenhouse gas emissions. Each car share vehicle takes more than ten regular vehicles off the road, and allows you to select the appropriate vehicle for your trip.

You can reserve and use your choice of seven vehicles throughout downtown Victoria, paying a rate of $7.50/hour, including fuel and insurance. To use our services, simply enroll in the program, attend an orientation, book a vehicle and take a trip! Authorized users are invoiced once a month.

Step 1: Enrollment
To enroll in our program and qualify to use VCSC vehicles you must be a core government staff member. This includes:

• All provincial government employees
• Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs)
• Members of the provincial judicial system

Vehicles must be used for official government business, for travel within British Columbia, and for periods up to 24 hours in length. You must also satisfy the requirements of the program:

• 19 years of age or older
• hold a current and valid full privilege drivers’ license (presented at the time of orientation).

Step 2: Attend an Orientation
Attend a 30 minute orientation session. Orientations are held on site, in group format, at our vehicles throughout downtown Victoria. Please contact our office at manager@victoriacarshare.ca or by phone at 250 995-0265 to schedule an orientation. Authorized users are required to produce two of the following type of BC Government identification at time of orientation:
BC provincial government photo identification, BC provincial government business card, BC provincial government pay stub dated within 6 months of the date of the rental, BC provincial government email address, Unexpired government-issued credit card (embossed with the Authorized User’s name and “Province of BC” or “Province of BC Travel”), or Letter from an entity.

Step 3: Book a Vehicle
Below is a map of the 7 vehicles available to Provincial employees conveniently located throughout Downtown Victoria.
To reserve a vehicle you can book online, or call our 24-hour booking line at 1-877-234-5906. Once you have made a reservation, get in and drive, returning the vehicle to it's designated parking spot when complete. At this time, 6 of our 19 vehicles are available for provincial employee use.

* The Province and Victoria Car Share Co-op have entered into a Corporate Supply Agreement whereby the VCSC has agreed to provide car sharing services to provincial employees. This unique agreement means that provincial employees can use our designated vehicles, without becoming cooperative members. If you would like to enjoy the benefits of car sharing outside of government-use and become a co-operative member, you are permitted to do so.
